With an extensive sailing background
including intercollegiate racing for Stanford University and crewing in the
America’s Cup trials in Australia during the 1987 campaign, Jeff Merrill came
to P.A.E. in 1999 from cruising sailboat builder Pacific Seacraft (original
builder of the Nordhavn 40) where he was vice president of sales and marketing.
After three years as project manager for the Nordhavn 35 Coastal Pilot, Jeff
made the switch to sales of the entire Nordhavn product line in 2003. Jeff
crewed a leg of the Around the World voyage on our Nordhavn 40 and has made
numerous trips – accumulating over 12,000 miles - on all sizes of Nordhavns
including participating in the G.S.S.R. homecoming to Taiwan in August, 2010.
Many of his suggestions for improvements to clients have become available
options on new builds. Jeff travels frequently and has sold Nordhavns to
clients from many countries including; Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, South
Africa, Panama, Poland, Indonesia, Mexico and Canada (plus the Great Lakes and
both US coasts). He is licensed in CA and FL and is a Certified Professional
Yacht Broker. Jeff has been a featured
speaker at PassageMaker magazines TrawlerFests for many years and is a regular
contributor to the www.nordhavn.com web site. In his spare time Jeff races
dinghies with his wife Pam and served in 2011 as the commodore of Alamitos Bay
Yacht Club in Long Beach, CA.
